Geography and Early History of Israel and Palestine The land variously called Israel and Palestine is a small, 10, square miles at present land at the eastern end of the Mediterranean Sea. During its long history, its area, population and ownership varied greatly. The present state of Israel occupies all the land from the Jordan river to the Mediterranean ocean, bounded by Egypt in the south, Lebanon in the north, and Jordan in the East. The remainder is divided between land occupied by Israel since the 6-day war and the autonomous regions under the control of the Palestinian autonomy.
Download the presentation During the past two years, we at Zogby Research Services ZRS have been engaged in an exhaustive examination of the attitudes of Arab Muslims toward their religion.
We have looked at how they understand their faith, how they practice it, and how they see its role in relation to the state and society. We also surveyed Palestinians, Iranians, and Turks about developments within their countries.
Overall randomly selected respondents were interviewed. In this edition of the Muslim Millennial Attitudes survey, further additional questions were included while other questions were edited for improvement.
Religion's Role in Muslim Societies Download the pdf From May 5 to June 17,Zogby Research Services surveyed more than 15, Muslim citizens in seven Arab countries in an effort to understand their attitudes toward religion.
We questioned them about their personal religious behavior, their sources of religious instruction and guidance, and the role that religion plays in their lives and the world around them. Then, in November ofwe re-interviewed of the original respondents, randomly distributed across the populations of all seven countries, to more closely examine their attitudes toward modernity and their understanding of the role that religious preachers and scholars play in their lives.
A total of 7, adults were surveyed on their attitudes toward important countries that are playing critical roles in the Middle East, and the obstacles to peace and stability, the sources of conflict, and causes of extremism in the region.
Because, in the past few years, ZRS has conducted similar polls in these same countries, we were able to measure changes in attitudes, where they occurred.
Quality of Life Survey From February 22 to March 29,we surveyed 23, adults in 22 countries across Europe, Asia, the Arab World, Australia, and the United States in order to gauge their perceptions regard-ing the quality of life in their countries.
We measured how satisfied and secure they feel with their current personal situation, how confident they are in the direction of their country, and how optimistic they are about the future.
